Dragonfish was started back in 1994 by Paula Gibson-Marshment.

Paula competed in Triathlon and Mountain Biking in the early ’90s at National level and represented New Zealand in the World Mountain Bike Championships in Quebec Canada 1992 as well as completing the New Zealand Ironman in 1993.

During this time Paula was frustrated with the availability of woman’s specific sports clothing and decided to start making her own.

With a passion for sewing and 12 years working in the garment manufacturing industry, the time was right!

To this day we are a small operation (just me!) where quality, durability, and comfort are my goals.

Over 30 Year of building Dragonfish clothing as a brand. Paula is still active and has completed 7 ultra-marathons, many half ironman (70,3), Taupo Ironman, Tour Aotearoa cycling 3,000 km Cape Reinga to Bluff.

Paula also run her first 100-mile Endurance run and loved the challenge.

In 2021 Paula was after new challenge so walked 3370kmTeAraroa.  

2023 Bike-Packing from Marlborough sounds to fiordland 1,500km     

All Dragonfish products are designed and made by Paula from sourcing of Fabric, cotton, zips to cutting out and sewing. Then they are tested by Paula to ensure that the above goals are met.
